Why this campaign, why now

We are finishing what war interrupted.

Since 2006, Y.E.T. Compassion has served the people of South Sudan — drilling wells, delivering food aid and medical supplies, and supporting schools in the Biong community. When war broke out in 2013, families were displaced and the work on the ground had to stop.

Today the door has opened to return, and we are resuming the mission where it matters most: educating the next generation. A Christian school in Juba — built with local churches, community leaders, and organizations — gives children academic excellence and biblical truth in the same classroom. Phase 1 puts land, foundation, and the first classrooms in place, so teaching can begin as early as possible.

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

— Proverbs 22:6

The Plan

Three phases. One school.

Building a school in South Sudan costs between $100,000 and $300,000, depending on size and scope. Rather than waiting until every dollar is in hand, we build in phases — each one a complete, usable step forward. This campaign funds Phase 1.

01

Land, Foundation & First Classrooms

Secure the site in Juba, lay the foundation, and raise the first classrooms — the $100,000 goal of this campaign, now underway.

02

Additional Classrooms & Teacher Housing

Expand capacity for more students, and make it possible for good teachers to live where they serve.

03

Furnishing, Books & Opening Enrollment

Desks, books, and supplies — then the doors open and the first students walk in.

The Budget

Where Phase 1 funds go

Phase 1 spending falls into the categories below. These are planning estimates — final line-item amounts are being confirmed with our partner churches, community leaders, and builders on the ground in Juba, and the finalized budget will be published on this page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers, before you give

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Y.E.T. Compassion is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Stripe sends an IRS-compliant tax receipt to your email immediately after your gift processes.

What happens if you exceed the $100,000 goal?

Every dollar beyond the Phase 1 goal rolls directly into Phase 2 — additional classrooms and teacher housing — accelerating the day the school opens at full capacity. Any overage and its application will be documented in our milestone reports.

What if you fall short of the goal?

The build is phased for exactly this reason. If giving falls short, the Phase 1 timeline extends — we complete the steps we can fully fund, in order, rather than starting work we cannot finish. Every dollar given stays dedicated to the school; nothing is redirected. Donors are notified of any material change in timeline.

Can I designate my gift to a specific part of the build?

Yes. Give through the Donate page, or email gai@yetcompassion.org to designate a gift toward land, construction, or a later phase such as furnishing and books.

Do you accept stock, crypto, or employer matches?

Yes — for stock transfers, employer-match coordination, or major gifts, please email gai@yetcompassion.org and we'll walk you through it personally.

Who is doing the work on the ground?

The school is being built in partnership with local churches, community leaders, and organizations in Juba — the people who know their community best and will carry the school forward for decades. Progress is documented with photos and financial reconciliation at every milestone.

"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

— 2 Corinthians 9:7

Help us break ground.
